.....better all-season tires will do fine in moderate snow.

Granted you can get around in snow with an A/S tire, the temperature plays havock with them, and performance is nothing compared to a snow tire that remains soft in the colder weather.

I put a set of Goodyear Eagle Sport A/S on the GTP, $97/ea. They are great in the wet weather, have not had them through a winter yet. I've given up on running a dedicated snow tire on FWD cars, better all-season tires will do fine in moderate snow. If the snow is ass-deep I drive the 4WD burb.
