subwoofer install

I installed an aftermarket head unit and now im looking at installing a sub in the trunk with amp. My question is .. where is the easiest place to run the battery wire from under the hood to the trunk ? Do I need to drill a hole in the firewall or is there an access to run the wire through ? thanks for any help..

You can fish the power wire through one of the grommets on the firewall and then tuck it under the plastic molding all the way to the trunk. It's a tight fit in the grommet but it can be done. If I remember right, when I did it I used a piece of stiff metal coat hanger, stuck it through the grommet from the inside and then electrical taped the power wire to it (super tight) and pulled it through.

i just ran some wires into the throttle cable grommet, they come out to the right of the console. you need to pull the rug back to get them.

I asked too soon LOL.. I started looking and luckily the PO has already wired it for a sub :). Saved me a bunch of time. Thanks for the replies though !!

I wish I had a throttle cable, need something so I can rev the engine from under the hood without getting the ole' lady out and taking 10 minutes to explain what I need her to do lol.

Agreed, there are some things that should remain mechanical and less prone to failure, or as recently demonstrated, hacking! IC boards do have life spans as well and I'd be hard pressed to find a DBW still working in say 25 years. Let's see... Lolz

sorry OP for going off topic...
:D
