Subs in different boxes

well with proper sound deadening (rattle killer) the sub firing back like that is best for sq anyone with the ports and sub facing the cabin is only looking for spl

that's very debatable. I see where you are going with it (sub loads off the trunk and the low end has more authority) but you can get it to sound very good facing forward as well. the downside is you hear more mechanical noise from the sub if it's distorting at all.

And you guys need to tell me your techniques on sound deadening because when I faced my fi bl at the trunk lid (expaning foam in holes and 3 layers deadening on lid, 2 layers in entire trunk) there's still a **** ton of rattle. license plate was taken care of with foam, seems like the whole rear bumper rattles even thought the fasteners are tight. might need to remove it and deaden the actual bumper
 
thats all you do, find the rattle and find someway to fix it. once the rear stops, the mid will rattle, then the front. Just buy a tank it wont rattle at all.
 


get the btl, that in a proper box could puta whoopin on 4 cvr's, think honda to cadillac.

And to orignal op, you can check out re audio there is a basic box calc there that you could figure the cubes on your current box compared to what your new subs will want. The best sub in the world can sound like poop if the box is not correct.

By a decent chunk. More more force out of the BTL compared to the 2 kickers. A lot better sound quality and more power handling/potential.
