i was just kinda curious if anyone has mounted a sub to the truck access spot. sub into the cabin. would this work? produce good sound? just want some good fill
 


i have my 15's with the sibs firing at the rear deck and the port is firing through that little hole. it sounds damn good.
 
I have always been of the understanding that you want your woofers to face towards the rear of the trunk, that way you get the whip lash affect of the bass bouncing off the rear and firing back towards the cabin.

I guess you could port the box in the rear and face the woofers towards the cabin to gain the same affect, but I am NOT anywhere near sure on that one. I am just thinking of the general dynamics of how the sound will travel compared between the ways of doing it.

Currently myself I have only a 12" sealed enclosure facing towards the back of the trunk, tucked in under the metal beam that goes across from strut tower to strut tower. I am looking at redoing my setup using 2 10" subs and a smaller ported box for when I install my rear STB and have the port or ports front firing as well.
 
i got a t2 12 in a ported box with the middle seat down and it hits hard just get a ported box, face it toward the trunk and leave the middle passage folded down and it will hit ........facing the subs toward the cabin wont be as loud you want the bass to resonate in the trunk then shoot into the cabin mines loudest when faced back or up i have it back and it seems loudest
 
Everyone I know does this. I have my box setting right at the rear of the trunk facing back. But like said, leave the center of the rear seat down. The cushion in it will obsorb the sound and make it alot quiter. Mines a sealed box with 2 12 fosgate P3's.
 


From what I've learnt, Subwoofers are non-directional. I have a 12" JBL facing out the whole between the back seats (meaning you can see my sub when the seat is popped down. Sounds absolutely amazing, mind you that might be because I'm running a JBL amp with it too :D.
