Sub amp problems. Possible ground location??



Well everything seems ok now. What I thought was a bad ground or bad amp that was making my subs sound like poo actually ended up being a bad coil on one of the subs. And seeing as they were wired in parallel it was affecting both. Now it's time for a recone or a new big single enclosure
 
Anyone on here have TL #s? I dont know if its my setup, car or both, but these dc lvl 3 12s got a 147 in my 96 grand am gt and was pretty brutal.. this to me sounds like mid 30s at best . even after a w6 swap with more power..
 


TL #s won't help much, without knowing how they metered (sealed or outlaw), EVERY mod done to the car, where everything was (opening and closing a glovebox sometimes makes big differences, as well as many other stupid things), and quite a few other variables. Not to mention what frequency your burp was at, power used, nominal ohm load, ohm load after rise, etc. etc. etc. Long story short... mess with it. New enclosure, new locations, etc. etc. etc. By your request of TL numbers, I'm assuming you're acquainted competitions somewhat, and are more than aware of what I've stated here...

That being said, in an 04+ I'd either be running 2 15s or a single 18 myself.
 
You got way to texhnical. TL numbers. Legal on the dash. Just looking for an average. I know deadening the trunk and doors are a plus and the roof will actually loose db but sound better. I don't do burps. Been there done that and it's boring. Deep clean bass is what I want
