Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Stupid SIOUX FALLS Cops!!!

What part of SF was this in?
Luckily, I haven't had to deal with the SF cops. Tea cops on the other hand are dicks. We were taking a school bus to after prom my senior year and it was like 1 in the morning. The bus driver didn't come to a complete stop before he made a left turn at a light. The cop pulled us over.

wow that sucks dude. luckily i've had no issues with the GP so far but in my old 5.0 rustang i had quite a few run in's with the good ol SFPD. i was pulled over ALOT, for everything from reckless driving to loud exhaust. just ask to reset for a dispositional conference when you go to court and go to the dc and explain to the states attorney what went on, the weather conditions and definitely explain to him you were doing some tuning and mechanical work on the car and thats why the tires spun. they will usually hear ya out and most of the time let you plead to a lesser charge.a yr and a half ago i was given a ticket for reckless, they caught me doing a donut in the parking lot of sportmans wharehouse on a sat night and i reset for a dc an told the states attorney that i had just installed my new 4.10's w/auburn posi and i was caught off guard by the sudden loss of traction under wot what with both tires spinning and all, he bought it and let me plead to a careless driving charge.

TCO you are right too, the Tea cops are much worse! i work in tea and have been pulled over coming into town past odessa for going 48 in the 45 zone right there and given a ticket for 3mph over!

I have gotten *****ed at by the Tea cops before on the way to marion. It was actually a officer not in uniform so he called his buddy and they stopped me a few miles out of town.

LAWL (no pun intended) didn't you guys hear the next Fast and Furious is going to feature 4 door Grand Prixs?
Sounds like the Popo in your area have a serious 'tude problem.

The SFPD is making a "special" effort to get the cruising crew with everything possible, no warnings for anything (at all), a protest page has been created, there's so many people that have been screwed by the SFPD and its a great place to vent... I personally have a citation that i'm taking to court, and the cop is gonna be pissed that i show up, im gonna make a legal fool of him in front of the judge :th_jester::th_laugh-lol3::th_jester:

I saw that the other night i was out! SFPD is dumb! they dont know what there doing my friend got pulled over for running a red light (YELLOW) and got a tint and speeding ticket! Went to court and fought it and won all but the tint because its a "State" law

They are really getting stupid in Rapid City too, I have been pulled over 2 times in the past week for my taillights being tinted. They have been tinted since October and I have never been pulled over till now. A few weeks ago I had a HIPO follow me from the Haines Ave exit all the way to the Flying J where he took the exit so I know they aren't to dark.

I dont see that the officer was "unjustified" in his conclusions. He has a reason for the actions he took. U turn in the middle of the street, Loud exhaust @ 10pm, Uneven acceleration, and a person that had just as much of an attitude as the person with authority, usually the person without the authority tends to lose those disagreements hence this outcome.

We can run loud all day long until 9pm then you better not chirp a tire. City ordinance.

Yes, the cop was probably a bit over board, but we are only getting one side of the story here and not having proof of insurance they can impound the car for, but usually allow you 24 hours to prove you have it.

Right or Wrong the officer has the authority in this situation and he had reasoning behind the decisions he made and proof per your own wording that you did things wrong.

A car that isn't running correctly and you are under 30mph but spun the tires while doing a U turn and probably not signaling and then you romp on it once you get going straight. I would have pulled you over to at least see what you thought you were doing.

GreyGhost makes a good point. Doing some wot passes for tuning on an open 2 lane outside of town would have saved you this trouble and the $.

That being said it still shocks me that they impounded your car. I have been pulled over twice in SF for not having proof of insurance with me in the car(had ins both times) and i was just given a ticket. That leads me to assume the decision to impound vs ticket is up to the officers discretion, which means if you give him guff or get smart with him you WILL get the short end of the stick. I had to learn that the hard way in my early 20's....just my $0.02 i guess, i wasn't there, so not trying to pretend i know how it went down or anything like that

X2 you could have woke up half the damn neighborhood and had them calling you in.

Anytime I tune it's a remote highway or paved road that I can see a mile and a half without hills and 20 minutes away from town. Know your city limits and the routes the sherriff/deputies usually take, or just find a map and draw routes from city to city, thats the roads they will be on.
