Stupid Question

I just picked up my first GTP tonight and there is a little thing that I don't particularly like. I had an before 02 SSEi so maybe I'm comparing to that but when you put the car in drive it locks, shouldn't it UNLOCK when you put it in park? lol help

The owners manual should have a blurb in it about a way to change it, its just a simple program.

GTP should lock in park, until the brake is applied. It should semi-lock into drive. You should have to depress the shifter to drop it down into the lower gears. It should freely move into neutral from drive

Factory default for the Grand Prixs is unlock when you shut off the car, but you can change it in the BCM to unlock when you put the car in park.

yeah just take the mallpgm fuse out and hit the lock button and it'll ding. there's like 4 different settings of when the doors lock as well as the alarm and all kinda other shiit
