I tried looking for a thread I once found on this forum and I can't find it anymore. There was someone who installed one of the "bolt" on kits from Intense Racing that was going to go public but never did. I'm wondering if that person is still active on here. If so, I have some questions for you. :D
 


i've only really seen one person say they had a remote turbo setup and they never really gave us any good pictures. beyond that it's pretty rare.

Yeah, I'm wondering how it is doing. I've been talking to STS and Intense about the kit they made long ago. STS feels that the turbo wasn't properly setup or was not the right type and wanted more information. Intense has no idea since the project predated the current management and they have no desire to reexplore that kit. So my questions were what model turbo was it, what options were installed, if he/she has experienced issues (like exhaust leaks), and pics of the routing.

I'm starting to think the Z3/Z7 is less trouble and less money for similar results.

Z3 kit works wonders for the coin.

Yeah, it is actually less than the STS kit and you still need to fab up pipe back to the intake with the STS kit. I'm going to research the Z3 kit on here to learn more. I'm not a turbo guy so I'm not sure what options are an overkill for my project. I'm not looking to make a 10 second car.

Rear mount turbo will never be as efficient as a proper turbo setup.

Heat helps it spool.

Yeah, it looked easier because of its placement. Now that I found the Z3/Z7 setup, that seems way easier to install than any turbo kit I have ever seen and looks like they don't interfere as much as other kits.
 


If you want rare and unique track down a PaxtonNovi-1000 kit for the GPs and spend the big bucks for it.

If you want to make power and not completely break the bank, Z3 Turbo time.
 
So what are good options to have for a 300-350 crank HP setup? I want to do ceramic coating to lower temps, their PLOG's in the front and back (ceramic coated), and a cat'ed SS downpipe. Not sure what else is needed or just a waste of money.
 
Depends on how you want to make that power. If you plan on going turbo you will need turbo headers and PLOGs would be a waste, but if you go supercharged you can get ceramic headers and any downpipe you like. Basically either way if you want that kind of power you need actual headers not the PLOGs. Just depends on your plans as to what you need to look for.

Hmm... I was wondering if headers would increase turbo lag or reduce it. I want to make my power down low since it is my DD and may once in a blue moon get on it at an autocross. I figured the PLOGs would help reduce turbo pay as well as the ceramic coated SS parts. Is this not the case?

No one makes turbo headers unless the owner has them custom made. Plog is NOT a waste it's a good alternative to the cast manifolds. And he is talking about 300-350 crank horsepower. Even that can be achieved on the factory manifolds.

A Plog will reduce turbo lag. At least it did for me.
