• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Strut Tower Brace is it worth it?

I noticed a fairly large difference personally. Then again 190 has a really nice bank merging on to 75 which I used was for refrence.

yeah you will for sure feel a difference..not crazy huge but it will be known

Depends on what sort of driving you do, there is so much more slop in the LCA's, subframe mounts, rear connecting arm assy and general body flex that a two point STB isn't going to help all that much.

find yourself a bigger rear swaybar first and better trailing arms. thats the biggest difference.

and you gotta figure out yourself if you can fit one, all depends on how big your sub box is.

Rear sway bar would be right after STB on my list of pointless suspension mods.

110% agree with trailing arms. Skip GMPP arms, they're better, but still leave slop in the rear end.

sub box reaches all the way to the top of the trunk i guess i could slide them forward (away from the driver) but would rear trailing arms really make that much of a difference and the progressive rear sway bar is next

There is no progressive rear sway.

i noticed no difference with rear trailing arms... just saying...

subs are not racekar!!!

Depends if you like high speed corners.

See below.

Its also tiny and hardly makes any difference in how the vehicle performs.

I tried it and was disappointed thus sold it in under two weeks.

Then tried an ADDCO bar, 22 mm solid. Much more noticeable than the GMPP bar, but I found my strut/spring combo made a much larger impact with handling than the bar did.

As a control I might throw my stocker back on and see how that feels.

On another note, does anyone think the ZZP "progressive sway bar" is a dorman bar?

The GMPP stb worked great on my 5th gen monte. I put the rear in but didn't notice any diff but it helps to hold my sub in place. I have put them on a Miata and an 08 lancer and for the price I think stb's should be one of the first mods along with an air intake and 180* t stat. Now the question is it worth it for the zzp bar? Prob not

I like my ZZP braces, got them for cheap here. I used to run a GMPP bar up front, somehow I managed to buckle it slightly so I took it off.

My other suspension stuff is Eibachs, Konis, UMI trailing arms, GMPP sway bars, I would like to try the Addco rear bar and some other stiffer fender brace.

Got ZZP Braces, put them on at the same time as my GMPP rear sway and tubular trailing arms, overall as a upgrade package it was very nice, and the stiffness in the rear helped balance out the understeer in the car consiterably.

The only thing I have left to do is BMR lateral arms, and hopefully they will get rid of enough flex to totally even out the whole thing.

I put the rear trailing arms on AFTER i did my strut spring combo so that could be why I didn notice as much of a difference...

why were addressing all this... what would be the optimum order to do suspension upgrades is anyway??? I just kinda went with what I got a deal on at the time personally...

It seems a lack of spring rate in the front and lack of solid control of rears wheels are the primary issues.

Spring rate in front can be solved via a nice sway like the dorman. Or add lowering springs.

Keep in mind lowering ruins suspension geometry yet lowers centre of gravity. Its a win/lose situation.

itll make ur car seem a lot more solid the one on my 97 monte came off a cadillac cts best 5 bucks spent thus far on the car

I bought one of the zzp ones the good ones, had it on my car for months now its definitely worth it made the car feel much better while throwing it into turn
