Strut bar over battery

Hey all,


I'm wondering...
In a 1998 GTP, How important is the short strut bar that sits over top of the battery?
I was replacing the battery, and the bolt just snapped right off.


I am wondering if that bar provides any structural importance to the car?
I don't drive this thing that hard or that often anymore, so I'm just wondering if I need to spend any time trying to get the bolt out of there and replace it?

surely you doint care about your passengers?!? mines been missing for years.

most wrecks in the junkyard those bars are bent upward anyways likely absorbing minimal crash energy
