Stripped Cam thrust plate bolts

While tearing down my blown motor, everything came off/loose fine.

Went to take the Cam Thrust plate off with a T30 Torx bit, and both bolts stripped with extremely little pressure. Tried tapping the bit in with a hammer, then turning, but still it just slipped..

Any ideas on how the hell to get them out, without having to drill the whole bolt out??
 


have no idea what those bolts look like. but have you tried EZ outs? they're pretty simple to use and its not gonna kill your bolt if it doesn't work.

Looks like that, only the head of the bolt is flush with the block, so theres no getting vice grips on it...

I didnt even think about the EZ outs...I know I've got some in the tool chest...

I'll give those a whirl once im back in FL...until then, any other suggestions if those dont work??
 
i used grabbits when i worked construction. same concept only you chuck them into a drill. if all else fails "turn" that screw into a flathead with a hammer and a screwdriver. takes time but its usually the best answer for torx screws.
 
For stubborn things like that I use a small chisel. Go to an edge of the bolt and hammer straight at the bolt to make a good indent. Then angle the chisel so that when you hit it..you'll hit in a counter clockwise direction. Typically this will loosen them up enough to come right out.
