strange shake?

2000 Grand prix gtp

When sitting in the driveway with foot on the brake if I put the car into drive it has a vibration or shudder or shake when idling but if I put it into reverse it doesn't have it. What would cause this? Thanks for any thoughts you may have.
 


I agree. Have someone power brake it forward and reverse while you look under the hood to see whats moving.
 
just pop the hood and watch the engine as you shift it back and fourth, if its moving a lot your mounts are shot bad.( like mine were) lol

is it smooth when you shift it out of park, and reverse to forward? or clunk hard when shifting in and out of gears?
 
It does not jerk around when shifted. Replaced the upper dog bone mount a week ago but if it was those it would vibrate in all gears but it only does it in drive not in park or reverse.
 


do the same thing mentioned above. see how your engine moves and maybe replace mounts. or maybe a bad tranny
