strange lighting issue

just recently i got in my car to leave from work at night and my radio light wouldnt come on. so i figured oh its just burned out or whatever. so i got up and went to work the next morning and half of the DIC was really dim. i went over the railroad tracks and it all came back on. i turned onto the gravel road and my dic went back out but this time all the way.

After i got off that day my radio light was on so i was thinking wth but it is what it is and i aint gonna worry. my dic was still and i hit the top of my dash and it came back on with out any problems. Now the DIC is hit and miss as to which half is lit up or if its lit up at all or if all of it is lit up.

For the radio on the other hand i was turning my knob for my manual headlight controls when i noticed it came on for a split second so i turned it back. I noticed there is one spot right in the middle off the auto and the next spot.

One time the light around the 60 mph went out but came back like 5 minutes later without hitting a bump or anything? anyone else have any similar problems? or any help?

I also wasn't getting any power to my a/c compressor and my passenger side window had a short time when it wouldnt roll up or down and sometimes it would only go one way but not the other. i finally got it all the way up after a real nice temper tantrum(or however thats spelled) and now it wont go up or down at any point in time but im not sure if it would be related
 


Sounds like you have a wiring problem take of the DIC and the radio and see if there are any wires that look bad. Also wouldn't hurt to look around the fuse boxes
 
i have already checked the fuse box and nothin there but im not sure when ill get a chance to look at the other wires. one more thing to add im not sure if its related or not but when i bought it had just had the trans rebuilt like 5k before i got it. when i push the performance shift button it lights up on my dic but i think it should light up on the instrument clustr too but i cant feel a difference between when its on and off
 


also, sounds like all issues are not related.
Dic radio and headlight controls run through ign switch. More than likely your hvac will only work on 5 after awhile and other electrical issues will pop up
 


old thread but i replaced my ignition switch blower motor and dic work but the lights on the radio still go off when i turn on my lights. checked all my grounds and there clean.
