• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

If you are in the outlined areas below, PARTICULARLY the MDT (moderate) or HIGH risk areas, PLEASE pay attention to the weather today. The SPC (Storm Prediction Center) is going as far as to say that the conditions are right for a major outbreak today.

So please be safe, the conditions are right and the ingredients are there. This could potentially be a very nasty night.

Here are the current, and I stress CURRENT, because it can change as they get more information from models and such. But anyway, it is the current tornado predictions.

This stuff, once it fires up will likely move east and north, so people in the KS, Northern OK, Northern AR, MO, etc need to be on guard.

Are you a fellow trained spotter or just a weather enthusiast?

:) We went out 3 different times last night on watch.

it POURED this morning on my way to work. settled down around 9:00 and its gone now. i really dont want to play softball tonight on a wet field.

Im not a trained spotter unfortunately. Everytime they hold the classes around here, they do so during a work day. I have chased storms now for about 10 years now and have been photographing them for about 7 years. I try to learn as much as I can but I do lack any formal training.

watch out Dunnster! Looks like you'll get hit worse than me...
I got the camera charged and the 2GB card empty!

Heads up, the storms have fired up and there is a big line of storms in central KS. Some of the cells are moving VERY fast. Some I have checked are moving at 70+ knots. One was at 77 knots which is approaching 90mph.

If you live near Clay Center, KS Im seeing lots of radar indicated rotation there.

They have also issued a PDS statement which stands for Particularly Dangerous Situation.

Wow watching the radar and Oklahoma is just getting pounded with a whole lot of rain and severe weather! However, it is headed straight for the KC metro area.

This storm passed through a couple days ago and we got heavy rain, heavy wind, some hail, and there was a tornado spotted on the ground.
