I actually close my door by touching the black rubber trim between the window and door and to close the trunk I grab the lock mechanism and pull down without actually harming the lock itself.

This whole discussion reminds me of the opposite thing when people open your doors into an object and don't say anything. But I get furious!

It reminds of the scene it "The Great Outdoors" when John Candy arrives at the cabin check in with his family and parks by the trees and says "watch the doors" and all (4) doors hit the trees. Cracks me up everytime I see it.

My husband and my kids' friends are door slammers. Ive gotten to the point where I dont care who you are (or how young) I always end up rolling down the window and yelling "Dont slam my f***in door!" I have many many cars and I NEVER slam any of the doors. Sometimes I have to shut them twice though.
Another thing, I hate it when people pull my trunk up by the spoiler. My husband did that a few years ago to my white TA and the fn thing came off. Man I was pisssed!

YESSSS!!! that pi$$es me off even more. When I use to live in NY I had somene write WASH ME in the road dirt/salt spray on my truck. I was gonna beat the hell out of him and they were saying whats the big deal. After I washed the truck and showed them how ther stupid ha ha writing was scratched in the clear coat they were like OH I didnt know. he was lucky I didnt buff the truck with his face!
I hate when people say "Oh your that guy" WTF I care about my vehicles and spend time keeping them nice. Just because you dont doesnt mean you can touch my car. I reply "yeah well if it werent for being "one of THOSE guys" you wouldnt have anything to gawk at and dream of owning at car shows jacka$$!"

omg, my friend did that the other day and i kinda yelled at her and i think she thought i was kidding. i definitely was not kidding! i hate it when people slam my doors too. my roommate has a jeep so he thinks everything on my car is made to be beaten as well. it is not!

My mother i love her but the first thing she does when getting out of my car is slams the door into the car next to us then slams the door shut WTF
