Stock DRL to amber lights

I want to change my DRL to the amber lights. I have an 07 Grand prix GTP. I am bought some nice lights and they got burned out cause they are on all the time. Is there any easy way of fixing this?

I just want to change my daytime runners from the headlights to the amber lights figured there was an easy way of doing...but i guess not. I have bought nice bright headlights but they burn out fast cause they are always on just looking to save some money.
 
what kind of bright lights are you talking about..if you are saying like Ultra-stars...they only last a year /I've had three sets

I came across that link if you want to disable drl function...should be the same on an 07, just different approach to get at the sensor
looks pretty simple with the resistor and you
have to manually turn on the lights after you do this..
