I'm a ford guy, personally, but i love the grand am and grand prix. Therefore, I am also a pontiac person. However, Chevy sucks ass and is a very disappointing car maker. I dislike them very much. Hell, dodge is better than Chevy in my book.
I forgive you all for liking chevy. :th_peaceout:
i read an article in motor trend about a lingenfelter corvette... it made so much torque that it broke the tires loose and kicked sideways at 127mph. that's just nuts
I dunno, what is it?
Good Kill. When my GTP was stock, I couldn't touch my brother's 07 stang. It was not even close. Those things are damn fast. Looks like he had some serious driver and/or traction issues. Good kill anyways tho ( Just don't go trying to race one on dry pavement) at least until you get modded up a little.
uhhh GM makes Chevys... made Pontiacs until a few months ago.
not much of a saying... and just because siblings come from the same parents, doesnt mean they're equal. I have always hated Chevrolet, I admit, but not GM as the whole umbrella company. I also find much higher quality in Pontiac than chevy, though my experience with late-model cars is rather limited, i have been none too impressed with the majority of Chevrolet's offerings, and though it is personal taste more than anything, chose a 2000 Saturn over a... I dont recall the year, but a Cobalt. Such cheapness Ive never sat in before.
The 2010 Camaro, too, is just hideous. Dodge butchered the muscle cars enough with the New Challenger (beastly, yes, but nasty ugly) :/
Slightly off topic, i think its funny and unfortunate that i have yet to see a young driver behind the wheel of a 2010 Camaro. Just today, saw another old guy inside an SS. Sad. Sure would be nice if the powerful cars were more accessible by the younger folks, but then there wouldn't be much of a used car market, I suppose.
Yeah you are right. I see now that this post was about a v6 mustang. Somehow I assumed it was a GT :th_shakinghead2:. My brother's is an 07 GT with 300 horses vs my FWD 240V6 Mustang, per thread title. 210hp/240ftlbs (Mustang) vs. 240hp/280ftlbs, I better have won - and if anybody was gonna have traction issues, it would be the FWD car. I have the Z-28 for the V8 Mustangs...
I tried one of those online survey sites about 4 months ago that say all you have to do is spend a couple of minutes filling out some surveys and you will be making hundreds a day..... YEAH RIGHT, I didn't make anything. I joined 7 of these stupid websites and I actually tried filling out a couple of surveys on each site and they took forever then at the end they wanted me to buy things or I couldn't complete the survey. These are complete scams so be aware!!! I couldn't believe they were even allowed to sell such bogus products. Then about 2 weeks ago I was watching the news and they had some vice presidents and marketing managers of some major multi million dollar companies talking about a site that they personally work with to pay consumers for their opinion, A site that actually just wants the "average Joe's" honest opinion on products and services and is willing to pay big money to get them. >>>>>>>>>>>>> Welcome To Paidsurveys for more information
so lets get this straight ..... you were street racing in the rain? Hmmmm.... atleast you didn't die.....not smart but it's your car and life
Sunday morning I had a newer 'Stang, complete with red racing strips, pull up next to me at a stoplight on a divided highway. It was wet out, not raining, but wet pavement.
Yes, lets get this straight. In the rain... not quite. Lets review, maybe you misread the original thread.
Yea - divided highway, no cars along side or ahead with no entrances to the highway - I agree that in the damp/wet conditions were not ideal, but this was hardly a tight city street during a downpour, and these weren't highpowered cars that are going to struggle with wet traction beyond 40mph. My wife was with me in the car, if there was a concern for safety, you can bet I would have observed any additional needed caution. I kept an eye on the rwd car in case he kicked things out a bit - we had lots of room. I guess everybody has different levels of caution they need to observe, I was confident that this was a situation with enough control and options where the risk factors didn't outway the enjoyment of taking some Ford pride.
For what its worth, I have also observed, not with this car, but from playing around with newer v6 'Stangs in other situations that the M5 cars are always much quicker than their automatic counterparts, when you have lower amounts horsepower every percent of drivetrain loss becomes more and more obvious. And before the 5spd auto's the M5 cars clearly had an advantage with better gear ratios.
So lets get this straight, you were street racing in the wet????? It's your life and car I guess. I once had some joker in a Subaru try to pull this sort of BS on me. This is why in a real race (track) they stop everything and dry the track. But like I said, it's your life.
