Stick with OEM tranny filter?

I'm going to be changing the tranny fluid soon. I was wondering if I should just stick with a OEM filter or is there a better option out there?

Just buy the cheapest one from advance auto parts they're all the same there is no better ones in the transmission filter world. It comes as a kit.

be careful taking the old one out, mine was stuck in there like ****in no tomorrow, lube the new one up good plus a rubber mallet to help get it in.

You shouldn't need a rubber mallet, and to get the old one out just wiggle it and lightly pull.

Well at 118k on the car I'm sure it will be fun either way. If need be I do have a rubber mallet both soft and hard, lead hammer, brass hammer, steel hammer, sledge hammer.... Not that I would use any of those. :th_mischievious:

Actually there are........

And don't use the gasket the filter comes with.

And don't replace the filter O ring unless the new filter is relatively easy to install.

Seeing as though advanced only gave me one option which was oem equivalent and oem is pretty top quality then I'd say go with that. If you know of a better one than post the link so we can all profit, plus it's probably cheaper online ;-)

Just because they only have one option and they claim its OEM, doesnt make it OEM.

See what I linked before your post.
