Steering wheels controls not illuminating?

I've noticed my steering wheel controls don't light up, are they suppose to? All the other lights on my dash work find, but my steering wheel controls don't light up at all. They do work because I use them, just not lighting

Did you check the fuse? I think its in the glove box panel?
Idk if that'd be it but its a place to start. Seems weird that they work but don't light up.

Yeah, I haven't checked the fuse yet figure I probably should LOL. Maybe I just need new controls.

It's a 1999 and I just got the car last week, so yes it's always been like that :P

Probably has something to do with the wiring or the bulbs are burnt out. But, I really doubt all of them would be burnt out.

My controls worked but the bulbs were all burned out, fear not though...I took the little boxes out of the steering wheel and replaced the bulbs in them. Hardest part was actually getting them out of the steering wheel (the cables and connectors are VERY short) but now I have lights that work. :)
I just got bulbs from Radio Shack...I'll try to find the part numbers again. If you've got access to a soldering gun, a small screwdriver and a Radio Shack you're all set.

-Edit-
Here ya go, this my thread on the same issue. http://www.grandprixforums.net/steering-wheel-controls-illumination-51753.html

What helped me a lot was the response by Guz that pointed me to this page --> http://doghouse.2y.net/gtp/steeringcontrols/ <--
Read that, it should help ya along the way. That page also has the replacement bulb info (the ones I got from Radio Shack) so you can get the correct ones. Have fun and enjoy. :)
