Steering/Voltage Issue?

Hey Guys,

Perhaps one of you out there has had a simliar issue. I own a 04 gtp comp g with 113,000 on the clock. This problem doesn't occur all the time, but a lot of the times I can make it do it.

Problem: when im in drive and I'm turning into a parking spot as I'm turning the wheel the car bogs down like its going to stall out. Once I stop its like the alternator catches back up and is fine. It's never stalled out, but I did observe the battery voltage on the DIC. it would go from a solid 14.70-15 down to a 10 or a 11 volts.

Any ideas as to why me turning the steering wheel is causing it to bog out. I have a brand new battery in her and voltage is fine. she runs a solid 14.30-15 =)

Thanks Everyone!

I don't know how it works on a GP, but on other cars there is an idle air controller that is supposed to make the revs go up when you turn the wheel. It may have gone bad, or the connector may have come off the pressure sensor on the pump.

yeah mine does the same thing. and it did it on my 99GT as well. i mean it'll rev itself back up and be fine when i turn the wheel. it only does it if you're not moving. but if you're steering and not moving it tends to really put a strain on it.

so good question :)
