Steering Problem

Whenever I turn the steering wheel to either the left or right wheel locks, and I am just letting the car roll and idle (in drive) the steering wheel tends to jerk back the other direction just a little, and the back to the wheel lock and over and over again.. It's like the tires are slipping on rocks or something. Could this be bad tie rod ends or something with the power steering? And sorry if I didn't explain well, if you need more info I'll try to explain it better. I've noticed it does this on any kind of road surface I am on.

Check the level of your power steering fluid. If it's full, then I'd say the rack or pump is shot. Would also help to know what year GP you have.

Yep, the resivoir for the pump is located under the alt. Just follow around the backside of the alt and down between the firewall and you should be able to reach it.

The problem is...holding the steering at the wheel lock/stop. Try not to hold the steering all the way to either side, when driving in real tight situations turn the wheel as far as needed and if you hit the lock/stop turn the wheel slightly the other way so your not holding it their, as damage to the steering system may result from that.

I really don't try to hit the wheel locks, but everytime I do hit them it has this problem. I don't need any problems with the car lol
