State laws!!! Gaaayyyyyy

Sorry but the TINT thread got me all pissed off, and it too early for me to be getting irate at work :P

Why are there STATE laws on EVERYTHING!!! this (doesnt count for you Canada peoples) is the United STATES of AMERICA!!! not the United States of TEXAS!

I went from Oklahoma to Austin Tx, mind you a 8 hour drive 1 way, just for spring break with my ex a few years back... NEVER going back. Austin was koo, the people were koo, the laws were gay. The group ran out of brew so I being the newb to Austin was voted to go get more. I drove around for 4 hours (entirely too long to be looking for beer and liquor) and went to 7 different stores and got kicked out of all of them, why you ask? Ill tell you

IN TEXAS!!! gah... gay f'n state(sorry for you texans but argue with this i dare you) IF YOUR OUT OF STATE YOU CANT BUY LIQUOR... you have to have a TX id... meaning you have to have a TX address, and go thru all the registration crap just to be able to buy liquor from a store... now clubs dont care but i wasnt club hopping at the time... just trying to get some beer and couldnt because i didnt have an id.

I found 1 place out of 8 stores... WAL-MART... saving grace, they took my id (had up-to-date maching that could scan the id to make sure it was real) after going thru 3 cashiers and 2 managers, for gods sake, at 23 you should be able to just go in and show them a NEW id, with the holograms, and bar code on the back, and all the techy crap in it and be able to buy in the US of A without having to have 50 different ids!!!!

but no... not in TX... grr

k im done

If it pisses you off that much, do something about it other than posting on a car internet forum.

that happened to me when I lived in Waco. it sucks but that shows the intelect of the HS dropout that is counting your money.

What does the person behind the counter have to do with anything? They're doing their job.

Many states have laws stating that they don't accept ID from other states, or if they do it will just be states that they border with.
Even when there aren't laws against, often times there are store policies.
Of rules that the "person behind the counter has", laws on selling alcohol are among the most regulated.

us Canadians eh? well, we can only buy liquor at a desinated store. cold beer and wine stores don't sell the real "hard" stuff and shop for groceries and get some booze?? only if it is non alcoholic. Now in the states I think it is a little to prevalent to be able to buy booze at a gas station but I think we should be able to get some booze in the supermarket instead of making several trips. That is here in BC anyway and I don't drink too much but I still think it wrong, oh and don't even get me started on the f.....g prices that are heavily taxed ......... nearly 15 bucks for a SIX pack (well, between 12 and 15)

I lived in Waco almost 6 months before this kid that couldnt subtract the date and year from my birth year told me that I was too young and I have a out of state ID. all this to me was completly ubsurd by the simple fact that I was a frequient customer of this store. At least once a day. I was in fact 26 at the time.

Yeah, good beer up here costs at least $1.90 a bottle.

the hard stuff is usually around a dollar an ounce for the just above entry level stuff and 2 an ounce for the finer stuff.

the REAL fine stuff is stupidly expensive like this bottle here:

That's Ghey! I used to live in a dry town. All you could get was beer. They got a new mayor a few years back and now they have a liquor store and are open on Sundays! :P To bad I don't live there any more.

Ya, there is some "private" clubs that serve anything and everything! I am a proud member! LOL:th_biggrin2:

Hell the county I live in is dry for liquor but wet for beer. I don't get that. I get fully dry counties. At least there is a liquor store 100 yards across the county line

i live in wisconsin. i have 15 bars within a half mile of my house. i live a couple blocks away from a liquor store too.

The laws liked men? Then you should be favored over women. I'm assuming you're a male so you got lucky.

LMAO!!! I actually was favored over the group we stayed with, by the girls... stay away from the gay bars... went down there with my now-ex, current then gf and she got jealous due to this so ya... got lucky... several times... :p she reminds me of that song, "tequila makes her clothes fall off"
