• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Starting Issues

Madness

Recently my 03 GT has started stalling after the first second of running. It will start right up, but then die right away. One the second attempt, it has started, knock on wood. The only code is P0420 because a cheapy cat was used a few years back-no big deal with the code-not the problem. I tried cleaning the MAF and that may have made a little worse or no change. Any ideas's, TIA.

Last week, Napa had a flyer for $20 off if you spend $50. I haven't had time to clean my IAC and things may be getting a little worse. I decided I would use the coupon and get a new one. When I was takng out the old one, I stripped out the torx head. My trusty needle nose vise grips got it out. When I bought the new IAC with a few other things, Napa did not have anything close to the right screw length. They did have a hex head bolt with the same threads that was about 3/16" too long, so I washered it up. Should I look a little harder to find the right screw or not worry about it. Thanks.

you can cut the bolt down, but its best to find a nut that fits, put it on the bolt, then cut it off, this way when you take the nut off it helps clear the threads up at the end.

washers should hold.

you could also, take the old torx bolt, and cut a straight groove in it, so you can use a flat head screw driver to put it back on. i did that to my maf screws.

Use a lock washer if you stick with those. Like like a washer that's cut and bent up slightly, it will keep it tight.
