Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Starter hangs in.Keeps cranking after key released

My girlfriend has a '07 base model Grand Prix 3.8. Occasionally when the car is restarted after a short trip of a mile or so the starter will keep cranking after the key is released. I work at a starter/alternator shop so I rebuilt another starter for the car and it does the exact same thing as the original. It hung so bad yesterday that she had to shut the engine off to get the starter to disengage. What could cause this problem? I would say a bad solenoid, but I find it odd that both starters are having the same problem. Could it be something electrical in the car causing it? Remote start problems maybe?

If you notice on the new models you dont even have to hold it on START, you can just click it over for like a 1/3 of a second and the car will start it for you.

I would say the problem lies within that feature somewhere.

check remote start issue or bad connection in the ignition in the steering column could be a faulty tumbler. Had this issue in a buick regal, went to junk yard bought ignition, tumbler ect. Also check steering column for a bad wire.

Being a starter guy, test it. Check if the soleniod is being powered up for longer than it needs to be which would keep it engaged. Then you know if it's the car or the starters.
