• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Stalling!!

I have a 2000 grand prix top swapped, xp, 42lb. My compressor went out yesterday while I was driving and 10 min later my car stalled when I tried starting it after having it parked for a minute. Now its hard to start and it will not idle. Idle jumps all over from really low to 3500RPM then car keeps turning off. I was thinking it may be the compressor locking it up as well as someone on here said. I had the compressor replaced today and still will not idle. When driving and giving it gas it drives fine, but when you come to a stop and the RPMs drop down below 1500 then it starts going all over then shuts off. I put in a new Idle control valve and a used MAF sensor. still nothing. Could it be fuel pump? I have a aeroforce so what should I be looking for and what should be the readings??

Thanks,

Steven

Sounds like a vacuum leak to me. Check the "T" connector in the lower intake manifold, just below the S/C. Those like to crack and cause this issue. Don't just make sure it's plugged in, pull it and inspect. If that's not it check all the other lines. I would tell you to listen for the sucking noise while at idle, but I guess you can't do that huh.
