98 gtp, stalled a few times over last month. started back up within a reasonably time each time. always when driving it stalls.
first thing i thought was CKPS. changed that today. Still turns but no start. i hear fuel pump prime. changed that last month anyways.
It did throw a P0102 Mass air low Low circuit. I didnt think a bad MAF would keep the car from starting. i did take it out and clean it and change with another one i had. Not sure if both are bad or what but i would think it would still start even with bad MAF. Help me. Where do i look next?

Just checked all fuses. all look good. Battery and Alt are new within last month too.
Can a MAF really keep car from starting? Ill go get a new one if we think thats it. but i just want to be sure befor i spend any more $ on this car.

make sure you have fuel and spark then. and the air filters not clogged shut too. if you still have a air box. mice are bastards.

Open Cone, cold air intake box. i did think it was the air. so i took off the whole filter and everything but still nothing. How can i check the fuel and spark?

shrader valve on the rail, its got a fat black cap.

spark, take a plug wire off the coil and prop it a inch over the coil, then crank it, watch for a blue spark to jump to the wire.

checked the fuel, spits out so i think good. I took the plug off at coil and leave chilling a inch or so away. tried to crank car. didnt see anything. but not sure if i did it right. is there another way to test spark?

I've had a maf leave me stranded had to have my car towed a couple years ago. I went to the gas station everything was fine got gas went to go start it and nothing it tried to start but then nothing I could smell gas bad no check engine or anything. I had my buddy scan it with his snap on computer the maf was literally just dumping alot of fuel into the cylinders.

very possible, if you got a parts car there swap it. na, sc, all the same icm.

or you can have it tested at a parts store, but they do tend to test good when bad. jy would be the cheap way to get a new one, new they are not cheap at all.

Swaped out the ICM from my other GTP and is started right up! Thank you scotty and tonkin for the help! How much for your extra ICM?

I actually have 2 of them the one the plastic where the plug goes in is cracked there's a little chunk missing. I think that is why the guy gave me 2 of them I can send you pictures. I got them a couple years ago with my top swap I bought off a guy from a running Buick regal with 80,000 miles and he gave me alot of things from the car I didn't need. Since they are the same ICM for both N/A and S/C I never changed mine. I'm going to be honest I'm not 100% sure they work but they should. Everything else he sent me was in really good shape and worked the supercharger coating was perfect along with the injectors and everything. So it's up to you just trying to help people out on here when I can because people have helped me out.
