SSC lowering springs

I have SSC's with kyb gr2 struts and I think it rides worse than a truck. I also blew two axles out from the car being too low and the geometry of the axle/transmission is messed up after lowering it. I can't go with shorter dogbones and I don't want to go with spacers. Don't know what Im going to do yet, might go back to stock springs but I have a few things left to try. Its not that I dont like the look and can deal with the ride, I just don't want to be replacing axles every month with this new setup.

You may only be left with spacers as an option.

He is correct, though. Lowering your car does throw off the axle geometry. You will have to do something to try and correct that.

I have SSC's and shorter dog bones and the car rides quite well with my crappy old GR2's. I will definitely suggest that you get a good set of struts when you lower it. AGX is what I would recommend if you can pony up the cash for them.

i dont like SSC just because they dont lower the car enough from what ive seen. i ride eibachs and the ride is decently rough, but it makes up for it by looking killer. id say my car is lowered a good 2" compared to a stock GP.

i don't really like my ssc's let me know if you want to buy them, i just got mine on in January.

besides the acceleration vibration that i half-assed solved with shorter dogbones and the rough ride? nope.

hey i'm getting ready to lower my gp, thinking about going with eibach, i see you guys talking about spacers and shorter dogbones where can i get them and can i use them together? thanks

shorter dogbones? drill a new hole in your stock ones 3/4" back center to center and then cut the fronts off. or get another set from the junkyard. all the ones that are sold are too short.

spacers? gotta find vinnie for the good ones. they are $50 a set and go in the motor mounts to raise up the motor a little.

you get one or the other. depending upon your mods and where your headers/exhaust sits, you might not be able to use the spacers (like me).

Why do you say they're too short?

the ones that are sold are most likely montana dogbones. they are 1" shorter than ours and that is too short. it causes your headers to hit the radiator fan shroudings and possibly the downpipe being too close to the underside of the car.

that 1/4" does a lot.

I have a ? Did any of you replace your pogo washers when you lowered your ride!?
also did you find it hard to install the SSC springs and do you have any recomendations on how to do them a little easier!?
