• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

SSAC Headers

well its 400 to get the headers intalled, plus 200 for high flow catalytic converter, 600 plus cat back with no resonator with both stainless steel mufflers and stainless st eel tips, it is a little in the expensive side but they are putting all the other materials its all new pipeing

You're nuts!

SO $600 wasted because a catback does nothing but change the sound. You can get a high flow cat for like $50 on EBay...and $400 for headers is insane. Tell that shop to go to hell. I'll drive where ever you are and put them on for $350...hey...saves you $50.

My cat back with magna flows and all new piping was only 300

header install shouldnt take more then 3 hours max thats if you dont know what your doin they charging 150 an hour for labor or what

ANd a magnaflow cat from zzp is less then half what they are charging

got them now i just gotta wait a month til this semesters over so i can have my car tied up for a few days to attempt to put them in myself

ok so within the next week or so im finally going to attempt putting these in, any special tools or anything like that i should know anout before i get halfway through it?

A friend to help you is awesome. Plus some sort of heating device such as torch to heat up the dipstick tube to bend it, makes it a whole lot easier that way. o2 sensor extension too, I got mine coming in the mail as it is about a foot short with the stock harness. Make sure you beat the **** out of the firewall to make room for where the o2 sensor is going to be...You'll see when you put it together.

Little word of advice, don't let the engine back down for a test fit until your trans dipstick is back in..I learned the hard way, but at least I wasn't under the car and covered in fluid!

Other than that, pretty much the whole exhaust comes off with a 13mm deep socket...

ok i want to put these in soon, can i put them in then put my stock cat in place if the straight pipe until i get my inspection then switch it out, and how hard is it to switch it out?

Sure you can do anything you want, After all it is YOUR car. That is what a lot of people do BTW.:th_thumbsup-wink:

Well i just found out MN doesnt even do emission inspections, but i have to get my car inspected for something because it has a salvaged title and people are telling me to hold off on putting headers on until after, but that shouldnt affect anything correct?
