The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
just picked up a ss intercooler for a smokin deal, has upgraded dual pass heat exchanger, do i need to mod the lower intake to use it, from what i can tell it has all the passages needed to run without doing any surgery to the lower intake
as long as the fmhe is large enough, the thin one that comes with the zzp ssic kit will get warm. you'l want a larger one like a frozen boost 101 fmhe. hell id run one with a ssic too. the bigger the more coolant it holds and the better it should cool things.
if you got one like this, you should make this bar to mount it with. bit hard to see but the ends are capped, drilled and tapped for a bolt. one end has the bolt in it. fits between th erad support. drill two holes to bolt through, then driill two holes at the bottom to mount the bottom tight.
folder full of install pics. you also need to cut the hood latch, i welded the top 1/2 to the bar thats holding the fmhe. what that L bracket was for originally.
you sent me the tunes lol. i have blockoff plates to get rid off all the egr stuff but i was wondering if the SES light would still come on after i remove the actual valve and all the crap that goes with it
i did plan on making a nice bracket to mount the heat exchanger to.
and yes i was going to plug the coolant holes 1/4 npt and a flush plug
I planned on after I get everything running and working to mount a tank in the trunk as a reservoir to help keep temps as level as possible and mount 2 small 7 inch fans on the exchanger to help also
if yours looks like mine, 3 inch thick and you dont want it hitting parking blocks and the ground when going in and out of driveways, your not getting fans on it.
i got mine tucked up behind the bumper some, when they drop lower then the bottom of the rad support it looks like a buck tooth lol
the radiator fans actually do pull air through the fmhe too
im pretty sure after looking that its a w body store heat exchanger mine looks exactly like theirs does not sure if that's good or bad lol im sure its better than no intercooler
