Squeaky brakes/Engine Knocking

I open the window as im driving and i can hear a light squealing coming from the drivers side wheel. It's pretty constant sound, even when im not braking, what could that be? Also my engine sounds like a lawnmower. As i drive by medians or cars i can hear quite clearly this constant knocking sound, and it increases as i accelerate. Any helpful advice would be welcome.
