Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Just put cross drilled rotors and semi-metallic pads on my car (got them as a kit, otherwise I would have gotten ceramic) The cadmium plating has worn off the contact area of the rotor(which I knew would happen) and now the brakes sqeual like all get out. I am assuming it is cause of the pads. My question is will it do this until the pads wear out or will this eventually go away. Supposedly the pads gaurantee no sweak...wrong!

It's probably not the pads contacting the rotor. It's the backing of the pad touching the caliper and piston. Did you apply antisqueal compound to these areas?

This is why I buy pads with a nylon/teflon shim on the back. They won't make noise because there's no metal to metal contact.

I thought all that happend back there was the piston pushing the pad on the rotor. How does that cause squeel? I'll have to go get some of that. Will I just need to apply it once? I've always had pads with a metal backing and I have never had this happen. It sure is embarassing though.

not exaclty sure about the rotors but the pads are a canadian brand called lightning or something like that. I got them in a kit and they said they didn't squeal so I bought them. Think the anit-squeal will work?
