I'm looking for some input on the sound quality (SQ) from line out converters (LOC) on the factory head unit. I've got the following components to install. Older stuff I know but hard to beat from a SQ perspective. Alpine DD Drive 5-1/4" components up front, Alpine 6939 in the rear deck driven by a Kicker ZX460. I don't want to disturb the look of the factory dash and I'm addicted to the steering wheel controls and the HUD showing track/radio information. I have an Alpine CDA-D857 with steering wheel controls that I could use but I would have to remove it from my Camaro. So my basic question is... will I get any kind of "decent" SQ from the factory deck with LOC's or should I plan on replacing it with the Alpine?
