Spyder Halo Headlight question

I bought my Spyder Halos a few months ago, and I am regretting it now. On the bracket, the piece you attach the headlight to the car with the screw cracked off. I had a friend epoxy the plastic back together, and now it broke again. Is there any way I can fit the brackets from my OEM headlights on to these ones? Or should I just go on and buy new OEM headlights and retrofit for HIDs? Any help is appreciated

The brackets are different than oem the only way to fix them is getting another bracket from those headlights. But if you're up for doing it just retrofit a pair of new oem headlights. I've working on my second pair right now and yes they're time consuming but if you can be patient and think about each step they're not that hard at all.
 
I used a ziptie to fix the bracket to the radiator shelf. Mine isnt a show car at all, so s* like that don't matter to me much...though I am considering Spec-D headlights instead of these garbage Spyder projectors.
 


Yeah, I have the first-gen LED projectors. I hate how the capsules aren't sealed very well, and the hot glue wears off quite quickly. The plastic is really flimsy and gets brittle really quick, thus prone to breaking from bounce and heat cycling. I used vinyl tubing from Home Depot to solve the bounce, but it's only so effective for so long. I'm experiencing blown H1 bulbs almost as quickly as I can replace the bulb in the driver's housing. Aiming these things is horrible and thus I can't seem to get the light to where I need it. I would like CCFL halos so they can be seen during the day, but if there are no GOOD projectors out there, I'll stick with OE replacements and install a HID kit.

Here's the pic of the passenger side where I had to use the ziptie to mount the lights to the radiator shelf. Click the pic for a better view.

I have the Gen 3 projectors are there not to bad, i have no bounce since there ziptied up ( right one got backed into by a suv, right one i snapped the bracket while changing spark plugs)

There nto as good as retro's but alot better then stock. They upped there quality since the gen 1
 
I have the CCFL's and they look great but the bounce has always been an issue. The only way I have fixed the bounce issue is putting Styrofoam between the bumper and the headlights directly below. You can not just lay it in there either, you have to get gorilla glue gluing it to the metal part of the bumper. Other than that, they been holding up well.

I had that bracket broken on one side, but good on the other. I ziptied both of them, and they are a hundred times more solid!! This worked better that bolting them on! Thankyou for thisw wonderfully simple tip. :th_bowdown: Now to put some molding in to get rid of that last little tiny bit of wiggle.
 
You're welcome. Glad to share lessons learned. As said, I bought vinyl tubing from home depot, which you can see in that pic. That also REALLY helps to create a tight fit. That particular tubing is more than a year old, so it's not acting how I want it to, which is just fine, I have a new set of Anzo projectors that should arrive tomorrow. Reviews to follow with that, of course.
