Probably more scared of you than you are of it. ;)

Golden Silk Spiders, Nephila clavipes, have pronounced sexual dimorphism, with the female sometime being 100 times the mass of the diminutive male. Golden Silk Spiders have extremely strong silk, and attempts have been made to use it for fabric, but this is far too expensive to be practical. Golden Silk Spiders are also called Banana Spiders and can be found in the southeastern US and south all the way to Argentina.

yea their web was hella tuff almost sounds like material getting torn when something brushes against it.Also i guess it was a she cuz it was huge.
 
Heres one I photographed this morning out on my deck. Probably the biggest spider I have seen around here in a long time other than big daddy long legged spiders.

Alot of people call them garden spiders because out in the country, that's were we mostly find them. Other older people will call them writing spiders because of the design they put in the center of their web. Big but harmless.
 
I HATE spiders I'd probably freak out if i sawe that in my garden. And I;m supposed to go to Australia next year for my sister's wedding but I don't wanna get eaten alive by a giant spider!!!1
 




What sucks is when your around them, they run towards you to get in your shadow to get out the sun. Alot of people think they're chasing them. They didn't make it that far with me. Also we were told if we got bit by one it is really painful, that their jaws are like the dude on preditor.
