Spherical bearing upper mounts

well i made a set for redcrapgp, he's lucky i need $ for the other racecars... and uh, parkave... i made an extra pair of the strut rod sleeves for ya to replace the bronze if you want em.

only put a mile on the TR's setup, but i have the new plates and tags so the things legal...just before it gets parked for winter lol

no noise, definitely nice how easy it is to swing the whole/strut knuckle around to get at stuff for service.... im quite happy at how sheltered the monoball is by the spring hat.

thing sits like bigfoot with the springs just barely slack at full extension, we need some swift helper springs for all 4 to keep the torringtons loaded and keep the thing from chewing itself apart when the suspension cycles down to full droop.
i like the Qa1 torrington design but i went overboard with the additional spring torrington, but ****it, at least now the monoball is likely to never need to rotate in the race, only pivot.

holy hell the sway bar links tightened **** up, cant wait to hit some cloverleafs while "tuning"

summit has em, others might as well.
chromoly cups (will rust, welds and plate are 304, its why you need to paint the cups, or clear coat)

the fkb is the summit racing add on, the fk bearing number is after it aas they are on amazon, etc

next time ask for a lower price with no warranty right before they punch it in or mark it.

for most items of visual quality inspection worthiness its not needed and is usually worth at least a few bucks. ive gotten burn victim L32's for 150$

those are gxp bilsteins, whats called an inverted tube/piston design

larger seal OD makes for lower seal thrust pressure and a more durable strut when our junk is trying to bend the **** outta the strut rod and it wipes out std 7/8ths inch rod seals.

its a sweet, expensive design
 
I was wondering why that strut rod was ginormous. It's been many years since I've had Bilsteins in my hands.
 


Hyperco cs100 from paragon products (cheapest place I found), sliders are eibach spacer250 from summit. Main reason for not running Torrington.. Forgot to order them. I'll get some soon along with some covers. It'll be nice if u could find some sealed ones that weren't super expensive.

ah, we're going with swift, they give the slider and stainless wear shims for nearly 70$ each coilover.

sealed bearings just hold the water in. a cover to keep the dust and debris out is the best thing. at least now that you just have to undo the center nut to lower the strut, you can at least readily take the bearing off and clean and regrease it once a year. just use a good marine grease made for water intrusion and pack it fully with grease (dont just smear the grease on it, push it into and out the other side of all the roller gaps). youll at the least double the bearings life. even if the bearing fails the monoball should pivot just fine....i kinda went overboard since the HAL/QA1 2 piece hats from the early intense coilovers use a 1" shaft torrington and im also and using two 4t80e driven sprocket torrington bearings for the spring to hat surface.
 
Even the cheap bearings work fine. They'll start to bind but a squirt with some WD40 and they're good for a few more months.
 
Bearings will happen and will be a future purchase probably after the holidays when things die down. Luckily the fronts are easy enough to undone. Hyperco helpers were priced right (yup this is a budget build) lol, I needed around a 4" helper for the back and hyperco (limit searching) seemed to be the only one that had one that long. Probably would of used a shorter one in the front but ehh they compress plus I wanted to have everything on hand. Unfortunately they were just a tad to short.. So I'll either deal with it or source a slightly longer one in the future (fcuk I hate removing the rears), covers will definitely happen
