speedometer moves when revved

When I revv my car the speedometer moves and the hud also shows me moving. If I hold it at 5k it shows I'm going 10 mph. My right front speed sensor is bad can this cause it or is it in the tranny
 


I've noticed that in a few of the regals around here. Just give it some hard quick revs and the spedo moves a bit
 
i didnt know if the speed sensor in the hubs could cause this, because i always understood the actual speed thats displayed on the speedometer and hud came out of the tranny.
 
bill once told me it was the vss sensor near the differential that needs to be either removed and cleaned or replaced.
 


The abs sensor should not affect the speedometer reading. I would do like Matt stated or also check the wiring going to the sensor itself.
 
Nothing really, though if you take the dogbones out, and rock the engine forward and lock it, it'll give you more room. Just look down by the power steering from the top, and you'll see it.

When I removed it (the connector was glued in, wtf?) I read that you had to install a new o-ring, or it could mess with the sensors accuracy..so thats what I did. I think it's held in by a 10mm, but it's been ages.
 
im going to pull it tomorrow any idea where to get the o-ring, and i did notice last night when i was in the car wash when the high pressure went by that right front wheel it would make my speedometer move
 
Then thats not good....Cause if it is that sensor being loose/broken, that means tranny fluid can leak, and water can get in...

When I did mine, i pulled the sensor, and then ran up to a parts house to size it (in a different car, of course)

So I dont know it off the top of my head, but a good o-ring assortment should have the right size.
 


im hoping its going to be in the plug or something because i agree on the water thing but i have changed my fluid and filter a couple times now and there is no sign of water.
