speedo cluster not working...

alright im not to familar with the speedo cluster. today while driving down the highway, my RPM gauge drops to 0, car is still running, every other gauge works. the only other thing that was tripped is the TCS was also shut down.

Any thoughts would be helpfull.

Wouldnt the CPS cause his car to stop running? He said even when at 0rpm it ws running fine. Normaly with a CPS you get a stall with trouble restarting

from what i read, not always, but either way it started working again this morning, and was fine on my 55 mile commute.. planning on replacing it this weekend, and hopefully it wont die prior to that.. would like to hold out a little longer on replacing it, so i can do my rebuild then as well. but i drive way to much.

If it is the CPS it could start to stall randomly just be ready for it to happen in the most inopportune moments. Mine always acted up on the coldest days possible

hmm learn something new every day :P... Why couldnt mine be so nice as to just kill RPMs... I guess the Bonnie just liked to keep me stranded

My car stalled once today while sitting at a stop light.. fired right back up tho no problems..first time it's ever done that.

so most likely its related?

Tough to say. If it stalls from running fine w/o symptoms like rpms bouncing or tough time holding idle etc, then I'd say ...It could be.

Mine was tough to diagnose because it didn't stall, didn't do it at any other time than highway speeds and when it finally gave me a crank sensor code was the same time I scanned it and saw the runtime counter reset.
