ok the problem i am having is that my spedo wont work all the time and it willl randomly work any ideas i know its not the sensor on the diff

seems like maybe the cluster if its not the speed sensor. do u have a computer to hook up to see if it reads vehicle speed properly? if its not the speed sensor, i would say cluster. i guess it could be wiring sumwhere.....

ya my little scanner can read mph and rpm and it att reads right but i drove all the way from work and it worked the whole way so im not sure whts going on

can it be a faulty ABS computer module? A while back I read online about the speedometer sensor passing through the abs before it gets to the cluster. my speedometer dont work either, been using scanner for a year now. I unplugged harness from abs and saw that some pins were burnt. I took off the cluster and gave 12 volts to some of the pins on it and the gauge would move from 0 to 110 when touching the right pins. you should borrow a cluster from a friends grand prix and see if its that. that way you wont spend money on a part you dont need.
 


thanks bio and iy was acting up again yesterday so for the hell of it i hit the top of the dash above the speedo and it worked for a second would it be just a losse conncetion in the dash
