Speed Density tune worth it?

trying to decide if I should embark on the journey of speed density tuning my 99 GTP. I like the idea of not needing the MAF, removing the TB screen, and just running Speed Density. Has anyone seen a performance benefit/increase from switching over to SD tuned? Pros and Cons??

Not worth it, it is 100x easier to leave the MAF.

The 3800 is so stupid compared to a GEN 3 or 4 V8 motor were using SD is alot better. Our MAF is way better at taking in data than the crappy VE table they give us. That table is only used if the MAF failed.

Even everyone with high horse power builds all run a MAF, be it a LQ4, LS1 or a crappy N* Maf.

Thanks again. Just what I needed to know. I will not mess with it. That being said, I am guessing you'd advise against removing the MAF screen? 1999 GTP for reference

Correct, you need the MAF screen. Without it, it can can skew the readings.

Once you start getting into it, you'll see how simple these engines are.

You can't run speed density on these cars without a bunch of work.
