Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Speed Daddy Headers or...?

I'm running SD headers on my car. Had them for 6 months, about 2500 miles. LOVE EM!! No silicone used, but get good band clamps for both the cross over and DP (or if you have your DP welded with the race pipe or cat no need for the 3" clamps). I have one leak, where the flange is at my DP but that's cause I used the cheap gasket that came with the kit. I'd use all your stock gaskets.

Well, that piece that sticks out would need to be straightened out a little, not because I'm lowering my car, but because of the driving conditions. I'll probably buy these bad boys and I guess I'll have a project on my hands for a bit. I've got a metal bandsaw, mig welders, even a lathe at my farm so I'm not short on any "tools" to do this lol. These look better than the painted headers anyways lol. In one forum this guy mentioned that the front o2 was pushed right against the firewall. Anyone have this problem? I've been searching the hell out of people's reviews before I asked any questions.

Yay!

-Most don't have a issue w/ the front o2 hitting the firewall but some do easy and simple fix...bash in the firewall a bit.

-the metal fan shroud on fan hit the headers on mine...easy solution... Remove it.

-AC line needs to be bent down a bit...easy fix... Take a rag and apply some pressure down slowly.

-you need a o2 extension for the rear o2z

-it comes with a test pipe so you have to decide if that's fine or if your going to add a cat...google spark plug fouler trip your probably gonna need this trick (I did)

-flip your motor mounts or go with some poly ones.

-some guys flip the sway bar to give you a little more room

-purchase 2 2.25" band clamps and 2 3" band clamps unless you weld a bit

-reuse stock gasket unless they're in bad conditions then Felpro will do.

That should answer any potential problems you chould run into.

What kind of spark plug non-fouler did you pick up? I've never heard of that to trip the o2. I only knew about deleting it from the PCM or getting a simulator? I don't really like cats and mine are plugged, so I won't be running one. How big of a job is it to flip the mounts?

Right on! Well I won't be telling the old lady what I'm buying until it shows up, lol!! I'll probably be showing you guys what I've done and how I did it so either you can laugh at me or tell me I'm awesome.

Just a couple things from somebody who has sds and regrets not doing things befor i put them in.

Weld in a new flex and fix the ubend. You will scrape and you will probly want to eventually lower the car and wont be able to untill you fix them and its easier befor you put them in then taking the rear header out later.

Get quality clamps. I got the

But i kind of regret them and wish i would of went with something like these.

But the first mentioned will work, i just had to redo my crossover because i had a small leak.

Use copper rtv, because its easier then fixing a leak once they are together.

And spark plug non fouler trick. Very simple and cheap. http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/we...lp_5014964-p?searchTerm=spark+plug+non+fouler

Drill out the center of one with a 1/2 inch drill bit, screw that one into the other and put the rear o2 in them. If you dont you will be wasting alot of gas.

Oh forgot to mention when installing you will need to drop the rear cradle bolts a couple inches to get the rear header in. Other that that its a pretty straight foward install.

I'm thinking that I'm also going to pick up a set of these headers too. I've seen some of them that list they are for 97-03, will they fit the 04+ too? I thought I've read that it is all compatible.

Thats why I kind of asked about the L32, but it'll fit. Maybe a little different than the earlier models but it should. I'm assuming REDCOMG has a 04+ Based on his pic. So just read through this forum and listen to these guys.

I'll order the flex pipe from ZZP, theirs seem to be okay considering they put it on all their DP's. SD's flex pipe is a 3" right? Those jegs clamps were the ones I was thinking of in the first place, we use the big bastards on our semis and never fail. Is this the same as what your talking about? Description says it's a plug and play kinda thing.

Yes the headers have a 3 inch downpipe.
That is 5 bucks at advanced like i showed you.

Thanks for the help. I'll be buying these headers soon. It'll be a winter project for me cause I'm a farmer. Been working 14-17 hour days straight. Lol

I have 30k on my SD's. stock SD flex, felpro head-to-header gaskets, upgraded clamps, used the vband "u bend" and catback adapter that came with them, no RTV on any joints. No leaks anywhere on the system. I did have to hammer some clearance on the firewall for the o2 sensor, turned the code off with my DHP so no CEL. Extended the wires myself with some wire, solder, shrink wrap. Haven't ever heard the u bend scrape but there is a few marks on it. Wish I would have wrapped them though. On vacation in Tulsa, Ok when it was 107* out sitting in traffic the car wouldn't maintain temp with both fans on full blast. I partially blame this on my headers and all the extra underhood heat. Have never had a problem up here in MI though. It's only over 95* a few times a year.

Thats good to hear that its been holding up pretty well for 30k. i just ordered everything like 5 minutes ago so theres no turning back now. i have everything ordered except for the o2 trip, but thatll be on its way shortly. here comes my next project!! lol

All I have to say is that job was a *****! and a note to anyone doing this job is to WATCH OUT FOR THE VACUUM MANIFOLD, second time I've snapped that little piece of **** working on this car...

I have 04 supercharged heads on my 2001 with sd headers and they fit just fine, have fit fine for several years now.
