Speed Daddy Headers - issues

So I figured I would take off the old headers today and put the new headers on tomorrow.

Five hours later I broke two bolts and three brackets getting the old headers off. It's all good, I don't need those ones anyways.

Now the issues begin. Both of the oxygen sensors are rusted in place, lots of PB Buster does not even let them budge. What can I do about this?

So far my guess is to buy new ones, and my guess is they're about $70/ea?

My car may be out of commission for a long time, this was a bad idea :th_nervous:. Haven't thought of how I will commute to work/school yet.. Haha.

Any suggestions would help!
 


My dad told me to try a socket and some heat, he said that the rust is just unimaginable though. It did not sound like he had high hopes for it. After living 13 years in MN, he knows rust. Haha.

I am going to try heat & the socket tomorrow morning, I have to organize a way to work in the mean time.
 
Could just get an O2 sim for the after car one. I've had one for 3 years now and no issues, I believe they're cheaper than a new O2 as well.
 
I'm assuming the SD's are the old headers? Either way why do you need a new rear, do you still have a cat? I got a new front o2 for $40 at the part store...
 


I don't think I can use an O2 simulator as I still need to pass emissions, correct? And wouldn't that mess with the lean/rich-ness?

And no, the SD headers are the new ones, the old ones are.. well the old, stock ones. And yes, I still have the cat, I need it to pass emissions. This is my daily driver car. I cannot remove either, so I was thinkign I just need to buy new ones.
 
rear 02 does dick for fueling. except when it runs a test. If your cars 2001-newer running a 02 sim can cause issues when the car runs a test and it doesnt respond and it will over fuel the car

I used a torch this morning and got 'em nice and red, both came off with quite a bit of force, but the rear one's threads are shot, the front one is in okay condition...
 
well while your at the auto parts store pick up a set of exhaust gaskets as the ones that came with my sd headers werent cut right and failed..compare them just to be safe its only 7 bucks
 
You do need the rear O2 for emissions stuff. I'm in a state that doesn't care so my car is very illegal. All the rear O2 does is make sure that the cat is working properly. If you wanted to you can get a Magnaflow high flow car off eBay for like $50. Still emissions legal.
 


My gaskets fit fine. The only thing I need to do now is replace the things I broke in the process of getting the damn rear manifold in place, and then get the catalytic converter...
 
Denso O2's are about $35 each from Rockauto. Don't forget the clearance issue with the front o2 in the tunnel on the SD's.
