spectre open cone IAT placement.

so i know most people zip tie the IAT by the filter but i didnt feel like doing that or think it would look good so i did this drilled out the tip of the filter to the size of the IAT and silicone sealed a grommet in that way the IAT is actually in the filter....just thought id share....IAT had to be extended but thats nothing some wire and solder cant fix :th_thumbsup-wink:

If i am not mistaken I think the IAT need to see air flow over the sensor. Were you have it, It will not have the air stream going past the sensor so it will just measure the air tem in you engine bay.. Just my 2 cents.

whats the dif between a fwi and a open cone? wouldnt a open cone suck in alot of heat from the headers? arnt you wanting colder air into the filter?

It's an either/or deal. FWI gives colder air, open cone gives more air.
say if you're intercooled, you don't need colder air.
