• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Spark plugs, etc.

I am looking for the collective wisdom of all of you.
I am in the process of gathering parts to replace my UIM and gaskets for the LIM and valve covers. I have read a lot of stuff about the original LIM gaskets being eaten up by the DexCool coolant and that if I am replacing them, I should get the OEM metal gaskets. Question #1. Is the dealer the only place to get metal gaskets? If not, where else? Question #2. Since I don't plan on replacing the anti-freeze with DexCool but am presently running the yellow kind that mixes with any anti-freeze, is it still important to get the metal gaskets? Question #3: While I am doing the job, I figured I might as well change the spark plugs since they are original with 110,000 miles on them. Autozone has lots of different plugs available for my car. What kind would you recommend? My car is a DD with no mods. Just a stock 3.8L N/A 2002 GP. I read that some people recommend Autolites, some NGK, some A/C. Which is better for a DD? I rarely get my RPMs over 4000. I am one of those slow and steady type of drivers.:th_yawning:

Thanks for any help any of you can give me....

you can get them from ZZP or any auto parts store.

yes, it is important to get the metal gaskets because the plastic ones WILL fail again.

just get some plugs that they recommend you for the car. its youre not modding it youll be fine with platinums. copper plugs are only useful on a performance application.
