But heat really doesn't cause that kind of damage really...something has to physically cause that damage...

I think you have a intake gasget leak on more then one cylinder. Mine is all stock with 212,000 and I had a melted one on #1 when I changed plugs for its second tune up and it was missing this cured it but now its missing and pinging. The dealership told me it needed a gasget 25,000 miles ago when it was in for the valve cover gasget recall but I blew it off. That would explain high cylinder temps.
In his case it probley is the timing mines not modded but on mine im sure its intake gasket leaking which would make it lean the plugs had 100,000 miles on them, and only one was damaged. It also has a code from the rear o2 of bad catalist does this mean the cats burnt from raw fuel or is it the sensor it self. Also do know if a 99 gtp has exhaust manifold gaskets in between heads and manifolds,if not how do i fix them from leaking. Found this out when I seafoamd it.The high cylinder temps are from the low timing when he was knocking, which lead to higher EGT (exhaust gas temps)...not from a gasket leaking...your stealership is lying to you.
