Its started out as a really bad misfire, couldnt figure it out, broke down along the road, got towed into dealership to tell me my spark plug tips are melted and gone. They wanted to bend me over and charge me 330 bucks to change plugs, dont even know why the quoted me. If anyone can help me as to what has caused this and if it will happen i put autolite 605's in now. i had Gm acdelos in. Here are some pics

Update!!!! 2/6/2011

Pulled my egine due to oil coming out manifold, and here i found a chipped pistion on number 5. And all along ive been running with it lol, untill the ring went bad.

Busted tips mean internal damage...your going to need a new bottom end...sorry to break the news to ya boss.

i dont think they busted, they burnt. cause you can see on the 3rd plug the tip was strting to get melted

the only way they get burnt off is for them being in the car FOREVER or for your combustion chamber temps to be off the freakin charts high, which means you were knocking and running low timing.

Something has the be in there flyin' around to cause the tips to be gone...like especially on the 2nd plug from the left...destroyed.

im back to a stock tune now, and i just did my topswap in september. I did have a knock in the drivers side of the motor. prior to my misfire.

Yup...high compression builds NEED a custom tune...you can't run a "stock tune" on a Top Swap...prolly what did your car in.

there are no internal mods just yet. so it is a topswap, with cai, and a custom tune, glanzergtx did my tune, he has the file

that is what i thought, because the front is the only one that got burnt, and i was thinking the heat isnt getting out quick enough.

Well...there is your issue. Muffler isn't the flowing issue...the factory manifolds/downpipe/u-bend are what needed to be replaced...you probably had KR out the ying yang...sorry man...but I bet you lost at least 3 pistons there. Especially with the factory AC Delco's...

NO...I mean chipped...as in damaged...as in...internal damage...as in...your motor...is 99.9% toast.

Especially with a GenV...yikes.
