Spark Plug suggestion?

I have a 2000 GP SE 3.1 liter and was looking for spark plug suggestions. Its all stock with no mods. I heard to stay away from platinum for this GP. Is that right? I just didn't know if the recommendations were different for a 3.1 vs the 3.8 engines?
If so, what would be the best for performance and gas milage.

Not sure if I need wires, but I was leaning towards the Autolite 97005 set too?

Currently have about 93k on the car and i am not sure if its ever been tuned up.

Also, Should I consider changing the PVC valve? They apparently put the darn thing inside the airflow/carb area (which is typical of the darn engineers) should I give this any consideration based on any ones experience? Looks like its a time consuming project from what i read?

Thanks for the forum and to all you contributors!

Where to start? You actually asked a lot of questions. The whole platinum plug thing, the plugs will work fine for a while. But because of the waste spark ignition may not even last as long as plain copper plugs. I have never tested it, but there you go.

I would recommend either NGK TR55 or NGK TR55IX plugs. Both are fine plugs, the regulars are good for 20k. The iridium ones would be good essentially forever. Pick your poison.

The Autolite wires should be just fine.

The PCV should be easy and cheap to replace. However I believe you are confusing the PCV with the MAF sensor judging by your description of it. Just pay attention to how you car is BEFORE you do anything, so you can at least get it back together in one piece.

The PCV should be on the lower right side of the engine with a 90 elbow and then a hose connected to that.

The MAF sensor I mentioned earlier, if you manage to find it. Don’t touch it, seriously.

PS the Autolite plugs are fine

The pvc valve is in the front valve cover very easy to get to.

One would perceive that to be true, but that is not the case. I use to run an oil change and for the most part that was the case. On my GP 2000, 3.1, there is no PVC on the valve cover. I could be wrong, but from what I have read it is somewhere in the mangle of carb.

Correct me If I am wrong. Either way I greatly appreciate you guys chiming in!

It's in the front valve cover with a 90 degree elbow coming off of it and running to the tb then to the rear vc. Post a pic of your engine.
