Spark plug gap question

Just got new wires and autolite xp606's. I'm hearing stuff from people saying dont gap them or something and i honestly have no idea what that means. Somebody help me out here cause i'm now confused
 


They're iridium.

You can very easily trash them when trying to gap them.

If this is for a gt gap at 0.060.

If this is for a gtp, return them and get ap606's and gap to 0.060 if stock, 0.055 for a 3.4

Leave the gap at 0.60. It's already set - that's why they come with those plastic sleeves on them. You don't have a racecar that's going to blow out the spark when the gap's too big. So don't pretend like half the people here.
 


So these are pre-gapped? I call my buddy whos changing them for me and he said usually the good ones are pre-gapped.

They could be. Even if they are I always double check them with the plug gapper just to make sure.
 
I know for a fact that GM plugs are pre-gapped. Not 100% on AutoLite or NGK. They should be pre-gapped, though, because they are iridium. If they came in a plastic sleeve, they're pre-gapped.
 
They didn't come in a plastic sleeve, they came in a box of four, then inside the box was 4 individually boxed spark plugs with nothing but the plug inside
 
Hm. Last set I did had a plastic tube over the threads, inside a bos, inside a box with more boxes of tubed plugs. Wouldn't hurt to use a feeler gauge to check them... little more expensive than the coin type used for copper plugs, but will have a pulling tool to make larget gaps (really, could just pull with a pice of wire, though)

Changed the plugs, car runs great now but i am gonna put Lucas injector cleaner in there just to make sure.

There was oil on the old plugs..Uhh..****? Is this just the valve cover leaking or something?
 
On the outside of the plug or on the tip of the plugs thats in the head?

You could have some blow by or leaky valve seals, maybe change your PCV valve, it might not be working 100% correctly, its a $3 part.
 


What the ****?!?!? I reset my trip counter after I got them changed and not even ****ing 40 miles later its doing it again. Blinking light and all. Wtf now
 
This is such bull**** my car has been nothing but problems. I'll get back to here sometime tomorrow after i call numerous places for information.
