Spanked by 4Runner

i had a diesel truck pull up next to me at the light in my camaro, obviously was modded, couple guys in the truck were egging me on like lets see how slow that car is. not sure how they thought they could beat me with my dumped exhaust and cam loping like crazy. we both took off and i was 6 cars ahead of him by time i hit 3rd gear. i wasnt used to cocky drivers with a big azz truck, weird. lol

He probably wasn't modded too much if at all. It doesn't take much to get those diesels in the 11's

24valve with p pump = win. We just have to get it to hold together after a pull.

That truck has a little more than just a p pump. lol. I can SEE weights, trac bar, FASS fuel system, etc. So I'm sure he has injectors, some sort of programming device, and by the amount of smoke and how hard its blowing out of the stack, its got a big turbo on it. Not to mention a good clutch that can handle all that power that he can pull in one single gear. When a truck can pull in probably 3rd or 4th gear alone, thats a pretty good sign that it is a built pulling truck. I hope you weren't trying to convince me that it just has a p pump and couple simple mods. :D BTW, what it is making some serious power, what all is done to it?

I'm sure he has some huge sticks in there giant turbo, fire ringed head, maybe valve springs, etc... There is a lot done to that truck, I'd ballpark somewhere in the 800-950 range. Btw a p-pump is all mechanical, so he will have no chip on it. Lol

2000 dodge 2500 90 lbs boost p pump water injection air to water inter cooler injectors stock internals. 900hp est. Pulls in 4th I believe. Toasted the clutch after that pull. Not sure what clutch it is. We are trying to find a stronger one for it. He had that one sent off and rebuilt and toasted it the next pull too.

What kind of clutch is he running? I know South Bend makes some pretty mean stuff.

I will have to ask him when he gets back from germany. He will have more in a clutch than I will in a built tranny. Also to the op sorry :th_sign-hijack:

yeah, sorry op! Have him contact Rodney Whitton. I met this guy at Thoroughbred Diesel's grand opening dyno day. He know's his trucks. He might be able to hook him up with a worthy clutch. His twin turbo duramax made just under 900HP that day! Big issues with keeping it strapped to the dyno :D It dyno'd 880hp on their mustang dyno. Very nice guy too.

hahahahahaha, takes a LOT to get a lifted diesel crew cab 4x4 into the 11's, especially a heavy ass ford. Try about 800hp+.......FAIL

Yessir, a lot of time and money. I had almost $30000 sunk in my truck before it blew, a good 11 second truck with a 6 inch lift on 35's. Lol

NP about the hijacked thread, I have been following the info and its all interesting. It just goes to show that its not just cars that are fast.... Just making me think twice about trying to take on a diesel :th_winking: Keep it coming, I've already shared my story.
