Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

DUI BABY
so today i go outside and hop into my car to make a taco bell run. hah, that ended well...

i get in, start her up and throw it in reverse. NOTHING. no reverse happens at all. i rev it and it doesnt move. i put it in neutral and the car actually goes forwards when i rev it?! WTF i put it in park and rev it to see if the gears hopped up a mark and the car doesnt move but it sounds like rocks bouncing around on the inside...GREAT

so i get out, let it sit and make the run in my woman's car.

i get back and try to diagnose. the fluid is a little low, but nothing catastrophic and there is no metal flakes that i can tell in the fluid. i actually get it to move in reverse and forwards, but it seems that reverse is intermittent. im afraid to take it out and stomp on it for fear that i will actually complete the destruction job and ill have to push it back.

when in neutral there is a faint sound of what it would sound like to drive on a gravel road. there are no holes or leaking fluid from what i can tell and there are no broken half shafts.

anyone care to give a little more insight?

The rocks sound makes me think there's something up with your chain, but the fact that other things work intermittently is unusual if that were the case.

right. my thoughts exactly. i cant tell what is wrong with it. it is definitely something internal.

Have you tried to drive it yet or just found that it will move in reverse and forward? Other than the chain it sounds like you may have some geartrain letting go. Is your trans stock or has it been opened up before? You may have a bad reverse servo seal or channel plate gasket letting go which could be causing the no reverse problem.

i just tried to put it in reverse and forward in my parking spot. it does do both now that i have tried it a couple times. i am scared to take it out and finish it off and have no one to help me get back home. i will try it in the near future to see what's up.

either way ill just end up replacing it with another junkyard non-HD. it is the stock transmission. my brother said something about the bearing the meets the input shaft? when it is in park and i rock the car i can make the sound louder with pressure being put on the parts.
