• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Somebody help!!

I have had this little love of my life for just over a year now and the other day something really strange happened and I have no idea what it could be so I need some advice... I was driving had my a/c on when this overwhelming smell started.. it was very similar to burning plastic and it kept getting worse and worse so i turned my a/c off turned my radio off and rolled the windows down. About 3 minutes later this rusty brown looking smoke started coming out of my passenger side air vents so I immediatly pulled over to asses the problem. Several ppl thought it had to do with my roaders and breaks but then the next day my a/c wouldnt come on at all and the smell would come back from time to time. I am at a loss for what could have caused this and I love my car so much I just wanna get it back and working properly.. not to mention its hot as hell here in michigan right now! Thank you so much for your help and advice! have a good day :)

welcome to the site... ive never heard of an Ac doin that on a GP... my first thought would be something shorted out and burnt some wires.

Not sure if it's the same, but I had an Impala that did the exact same thing. It was the blower capacitor that shorted out and smoked up the car. Replaced it and everything was fine. Do a search on here about replacing the capacitor. It's a real pain in the a$$ to replace it. Hope this helps.

what did the smoke smell like? like plastic, oil, etc etc, I agree though it could be the capacitor.

btw welcome !!
